Les limites infinies de la peau.
Set within transparent stage tanks, the piece places two dancers in a space of exposure and transformation, where their bare bodies become both subjects and symbols of vulnerability. Through the convergence of music, light, and movement, Caroline Laurin-Beaucage constructs a living ecosystem in constant flux—a microcosm where every gesture and breath reshapes the environment.
By isolating the performers within transparent enclosures, the work strips away familiar contexts, compelling them to adapt, rediscover, and redefine their relationship to space, to each other, and to the audience observing from the outside. The dancers’ movements oscillate between tenderness and tension, stillness and agitation, reflecting a profound search for connection and freedom within confinement.
At its core, the use of vivariums is a poetic exploration of intimacy, resilience, and transformation. It invites reflection on how our bodies, when made porous and exposed, might transcend the limits of skin—dissolving the boundaries between self and other, human and environment. Through this immersive experiment, Laurin-Beaucage crafts a sensory dialogue between containment and expansion, fragility and strength, the individual and the collective.
